Werregue
A flat, sculptural disc woven entirely by hand in werregue. Its symmetry and refined surface honor the ancestral mastery of the Wounaan community, transforming natural fiber into a collectible piece of cultural design.
Werregue is born in the heart of the Colombian Pacific, where the palm grows in humid rainforest and ancestral soil. This sacred fiber thrives only in this region, in an ecosystem so precise that its harvest requires ancestral knowledge and deep respect for nature.
Each strand is gathered entirely by hand, cleaned, sun‑dried, and naturally dyed with roots, bark, leaves, and minerals. Preparing the fiber takes weeks—extracting, washing, drying, dyeing, and compacting every thread until it reaches perfect tension.
There are no molds. No machines. Only hands that know the exact rhythm to create continuous curves, impossible symmetries, and sculptural surfaces.
Weaving werregue is an act of absolute precision. Thousands of hand‑made stitches, each one perfect and unrepeatable, forming pieces that take weeks or months to complete.
